This Sunday I had the pleasure of attending another great event organised by the Vintage Hot Rod Association UK, The Throttle Auto Races. Well, I did get my ticket back in October 2023... Anyway; even though some serios rubber was burnt on the track the event was very laid back and chill. A great opportunity for all to mingle and meet the hot rodders and their machines up close.
Here's just a quick info about Bicester that I copied from an IG post of mine from last year when covering another event. Built in 1917, Bicester Airfield was used as a Royal Air Force training facility over the course of both World Wars. Home of the unsung war hero and fighter/bomber/reconnaissance plane Bristol Blenheim. Used in the 80's and 90's as a United States Air Force storage unit in Europe, after its closure the whole site almost falls into oblivion. In 2013 it is brough back to life as a British motoring and engineering hub, including vintage restoring workshops and EV research centres.
Enjoy the photos; some hot rods features will be coming up in near future from this. Stay tuned. A big thank you to Neil, all the staff over at VHRA and the East Coast Sidewinders CC England for organising this!
